Folding phones are becoming more popular, with global shipments up 49% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, according Counterpoint Research, the highest increase rate in six years. That report claims that the growth was driven by three companies, Huawei, Honor and Motorola. So, the time is ripe, we might extrapolate, for Apple to dip its toe in the water.
